    One thing that you can always count on is change.  Change is a constant both in life and in business.  Key team members get promotions. People move into different positions. Management shifts. Processes get overhauled.  I could go on and on.  The point here is that you have to figure out how to process and manage change for yourself and your team. How can you continue to be an effective leader while managing change in your organization?

    We’re all well aware when we have a negative user experience. These little moments and annoyances when trying to use a program, run a certain software or engage with someone’s website are a big turn off. It’s bad practices at this point if you’re not focusing on user experience. We have the technology available. Companies will drive customers away from using their product, program, website or service if they have to struggle to use it. If it’s not intuitive, it’s not working. It’s necessary to put money into making sure the experience that customers are having with you is a positive one. Otherwise, they won’t be customers for much longer. It can benefit your project immensely to have an outside consultant.  Most people think that reaching out to a consultant is a last ditch effort, when that's not the case at all.

    As consultants, we are professionals who use knowledge, expertise and processes to deliver significant change and improvement for our clients. Consulting is more than giving advice. It’s plan, action and execution. Like any trade, there are challenges. Balancing multiple different clients and projects, traveling for work, meeting deadlines and executing plans are all part of the job description. This is why, in order to be a successful consultant, management tools are required.

    My mantra is "Deadlines Drive Deliverables" and I truly believe that.  However, that whole philosophy is driven by the fact that I am a habitual procrastinator.  I can put off a task like a pro. No one is better, I’m sure of it. That would be great if the prize wasn’t increased stress caused by a lack of focus and production.     Productivity is a word we hear being tossed around constantly. How often do you find yourself in the middle of the workday spending precious time on tedious, mundane and time-consuming tasks? If you’re anything like me, it happens quite a bit. Someone has a question out of left field, emails pop up with issues and requests you weren’t expecting, you need to schedule a meeting in the middle of the day and have to find out availability, etc. I’ve found a tool that eliminates the need to write emails back and forth concerning scheduling.
