The Apple event has now come and gone and we are still reeling from all the great products. From the reveal of the iPhone X to the new iPhone 8 to the updated Apple Watch Series 3 all the way to Apple TV 4K, I can say without a doubt that I will be buying. This event has the masses talking about Apple. The updates and product reveals were met with some very high praise this time around.
The iPhone X, revealed 10 years after the launch of the first iPhone, was an event all its own. This phone definitely differs from the typical iPhone model in both look and function. It has no home button to make space for a larger screen and an edge-to-edge glass display. It boasts wireless charging and features face recognition which it uses to log you in. The phone costs $999 and is pretty revolutionary. Another Face ID enabled feature that people are buzzing about is called Animoji. It creates an animated emoji mimicking your facial expressions. People are looking forward to this one.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are also rolling out. They have an improved camera sensor with new camera modes and some new features coming to iOS 11 that include augmented reality. This phone also includes wireless charging and will be available in three colors: space gray, gold, and silver.
The company also announced the new Apple Watch Series 3. This is one we are definitely interested in. With a cellular connection, the waterproof Apple Watch is making itself hard to leave behind. Because the Series 3 watch has a built-in cellular connection, you don’t have to have your cell phone nearby like before. Imagine being at the beach and leaving your phone in the car so it doesn’t get sandy and wet. You can still answer calls, get texts, check maps, listen to music and use apps. The watch will cost $329 without cellular, $399 with cellular, and will work with all four major carriers in the U.S.
The last device we are really looking forward to purchasing is the Apple TV 4K. The Apple TV 4K will be adding streaming companies like Netflix for more 4K content. In addition, 4K movies are now the same price as HD movies and Apple is upgrading all HD movies in your library to 4K –for free. This is huge. With iTunes selling ultra HD movies for the same price as HD, this is a game changer.
Without a doubt, this Apple event was a good one. There are several products I will be purchasing. The technology is impressive and ever-changing, which is a great direction for the company to be headed.
